A Talk on the Election of 1960

In 1960 John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon both ran for President. This was one of the most consequential elections of the 20th century. The United States was dealing with many Cold War issues: the Vietnam conflict, the space race, and the arms race, among other issues. In addition, we were in the middle of the Civil Rights Movement.

The two young men would compete in what became one of the closest races in American history.

Please join history professor, Mark Sample, as he will tell the story of the people and the events surrounding this fascinating tale.
