“Go Red for Women” raises women’s awareness of Cardiovascular disease and empowers women to reduce their risk. The American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) invites the college community to participate in National Wear Red Day at MCC on Friday, February 1st in support of the American Heart Association’s ground breaking national movement.
Join the movement to take charge of your heart health and live longer, stronger lives. Too few people realize heart disease in the No.1 killer of women (not just of men) but the good news is the disease can largely be prevented. To get more facts about heart disease go to "https://www.americanheart.org/red"
To be a part of this national awareness movement AAWCC invites everyone to donate $5 per tribute card and to wear RED on National Go Red Day, Friday, February 1, 2008. Your $5 donation may be made in tribute to or in memory of a loved one who suffers or suffered from heart disease. Display your tribute card(s) to increase awareness. Wear your Red Dress Pin (available while supplies last) to show your support. Tax receipts will also be provided.
As in previous years, you are encouraged to wear red and join us for a photo op in the Campus Center Atrium at Brighton and the Tranquility Lounge, DCC 5th floor at NOON on February 1st. We look forward to seeing you there!
