MCC Proud: Meet Kim DeLardge
Kim DeLardge, Director of Student Engagement at the Downtown Campus, has worked at Monroe Community College (MCC) for 8 years.
“I stumbled into higher ed,” said DeLardge. “I started in admissions at RIT because I thought it would be interesting to be able to travel…” However, DeLardge enjoyed working with students so much that she has remained in the higher education field for thirty years!
DeLardge added, “I love working with students and helping them on their journey to success and realizing their goals.”
During her time at MCC, DeLardge has been selected for the President's Emerging Leaders Fellowship, SUNY Coaching Academy, and the SUNY Leadership Academy.
As part of the President's Emerging Leaders program, DeLardge had the opportunity to shadow all of the Vice Presidents, as well as the President at the time, Kate Douglas. “The lessons I learned during those shadow experiences have stayed with me to this day and I draw on them regularly,” she said.
When asked what advice she would give current students or those considering enrolling in MCC, DeLardge said, “Don't be afraid to ask for help! MCC is resource rich and full of caring, compassionate faculty and staff ready and willing to help.”
Outside of MCC, DeLardge is a member of the Rush-Henrietta School Board of Education and an active member of her church.
DeLardge received her bachelor’s degree at Syracuse University and her master’s degree at SUNY Brockport.
