 Colleagues- As you are aware, we lost a colleague and friend, Alan Shaw, on Aug. 14. Because so many members of the MCC community were out of town and/or unable to attend the funeral service, the English/Philosophy Department is working together with Alan's family in planning a memorial service in the MCC Theater for Saturday, Oct. 5, at 10:00 a.m.
Please consider forwarding a photograph and/or a quote or short anecdote that you might like included in a Power Point presentation honoring Alan's memory. Send any of these to Dawn Quatro, English/Philosophy department secretary, by Sept. 23 in order to have them included in the presentation.
Additionally, Alan's family has requested that any contributions made in his memory be donated to the Alan B. Shaw Memorial Scholarship, MCC Foundation. Send any such contributions directly to the Foundation, specifying that they be channeled to the scholarship.
Please plan on joining us on Oct. 5 to celebrate a life well lived and to remember a friend we now miss.
