MCC Upward Bound Students Explore SUNY Polytechnic Institute

On Wednesday February 22nd, three female students from the MCC Upward Bound (UB) program went on a tour of SUNY Polytechnic Institute with UB’s college access counselor, Mrs. Fabretti. Senior Leomary had been accepted into the college and wanted to check out the school in order to make a final college choice. Sophomores Nyelah and Raia were invited on the trip because of their academic interest and academic achievement. Students also met with Mrs. Fabretti’s former mentor and gained wisdom from asking questions about her college and career experience. The girls noticed that the campus is a close-knit community. Leomary commented, “It was a small and concentrated school. There are lot of internship opportunities to take advantage of.” All of the girls were grateful to go on a trip geared towards higher education.
