<p><strong>Eligibility for Counseling Services:</strong></p>

<p><strong>Students enrolled</strong>: All students currently enrolled at MCC are eligible to receive Counseling Services free of cost. Services may also be extended for current students if deemed clinically appropriate by the Counselor.</p>

<p><strong>Faculty &amp; Staff</strong>: Consultation is provided to faculty and staff related to enrolled students; without a release of information completed by a student, specific information cannot be discussed.</p>

<p><strong>Types of Appointments Offered: </strong></p>

<p><strong>Individual sessions:</strong><strong> </strong>The Counseling Center offers both face-to-face and tele-counseling sessions. Face-to-face counseling is an option when safe measures are put in place. The Counseling Center&rsquo;s tele-counseling services align with state and federal laws and professional ethical guidelines.&nbsp; The Counseling Center provides tele-mental health therapy using a secure video platform. Students that reside out of NYS who would like assistance in locating a referral should also contact the office for support. Students interested in long term counseling will also be referred to appropriate care in their local area.</p>

<p><strong>Groups: </strong>Currently, the Counseling Center is offering virtual drop-in group sessions and skill-building workshops. Please refer to our <a href="https://www.monroecc.edu/depts/counsel/monthly-highlights/">website</a> for more information.</p>

<p><strong>Triage: </strong>The Counseling Center offers &ldquo;Triage&rdquo; (Crisis) support during hours of operation.&nbsp; The purpose of triage support is to determine a student&rsquo;s immediate concern and assess for risk factors. Upon completion of an assessment the Counselor and student will create an action plan with next steps for support.</p>

Welcome Back from the MCC Counseling Center

The Fall 2021 semester is officially underway, and we wanted to remind you that we are here to support! MCC Counseling staff remain committed to the emotional well-being of our students. The scope of services provided by our office includes:
