Catalyzing Bright Futures: Saturdays at the College-Call for Support
We are excited to announce our upcoming Saturdays at the College program, part of the Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP), funded by a legislative grant through the New York State Education Department, aimed at increasing the representation of historically underrepresented and economically disadvantaged students prepared to go to college and pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, health-related fields, and licensed professions.
Starting next semester, we will invite students in grades 7 through 12 to the Brighton Campus on select Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Through engaging hands-on activities and workshops, the program will focus on career exploration, college preparation, and professional development. Students will also have the opportunity to receive homework help to stay ahead in their Math and Science classes.
We are calling on faculty and staff to help us inspire the next generation! Do you have a hands-on activity that showcases your field? Would you be willing to share your expertise to help our students prepare for their college and/or career experience?
Your commitment can make a significant impact in opening doors to future opportunities. If you’re interested in contributing to our Saturdays at the College program, please email Jazmyn Haywood (jhaywood7@monroecc.edu), STEP Program Director.
Thank you for your continued support.
