Coming to America: An Education in Immigration

Please join us for a panel discussion on students and immigration policy:

Date:  Wednesday, March 8th, 2017
Time:  12:00 pm – 12:50 pm
Location:  Brighton Campus, Room 5-300
Who:  International Relations Professor Joe Scanlon, International Students Counselor Audra Dion, and community activist John Ghertner, MD

What: MCC’s common read, Spare Parts by Joshua Davis, chronicles the story of four extremely intelligent, accomplished students who happen to have been born outside the U.S. The students compete in an elite, national underwater robotics competition. Three of the four young men are undocumented, and they face the very real struggles associated with living in a country as an illegal immigrant. These students are not unique in their struggles. Come learn more about the experiences of immigrant students. Leave with important information about immigration and immigrant populations. How do recent executive orders affect students who are immigrants, including those attending MCC?  How do the recent executive orders affect you?

All are welcome!
