Scholars' Day 2013 - Call for Participation

MCC's 5th annual Scholars' Day Colloquia and Scholars' Day Conference will be held on Wednesday, April 24 and Saturday, April 27, 2013. All faculty, staff, and students are now invited to submit proposals for presentation, and we encourage faculty and staff to support and promote submissions from their talented and interested students.  The deadline for submissions is February 25, 2013.  Faculty are still encouraged to include opportunities in course curricula that may generate student projects suitable for Scholars' Day presentations (see https://web.monroecc.edu/scholarsday/promotion).  Participating students will need a faculty sponsor, but the presentation does not have to originate in conjunction with a specific class.  Faculty research or other productions are equally welcome.

Information about this event and the application process is available on the Scholars' Day website (https://web.monroecc.edu/scholarsday).  The application form can be found on this site (https://web.monroecc.edu/scholarsday/apply), along with information about the event, including last year's schedule and program, and detail concerning proposal abstracts.

New this year will be a "Brown-Bag" workshop in conjunction with the TCC specifically for faculty sponsors of student presentations, designed to help sponsors maximize the chance of student success (for acceptance and competitive scholarships) and to minimize the uncertainties about the process. The initial Brown-Bag will be on NOV 30 at noon on the Brighton Campus, 12-201, and DEC 5 at noon on the Damon City Campus. Watch for an announcement from the TCC.

On behalf of the Scholars' Day Committee, we look forward to all of your submissions.
