Tech Tip: MFA

It is always best to have a backup MFA plan for those days when you forget your phone or it didn't charge. We encourage members of the MCC community to make the Microsoft Authenticator app their default authentication choice as it is the most secure MFA option.

To add a second method of authentication:

  1. Login to myaccount.microsoft.com with your MCC credentials.
  2. In the Security tile click on Update info.  
  3. A chart with your current authentication method displays. In the top left corner click Add sign-in method.  Avoid using phone calling or SMS texting as they are less secure.
  4. Use the drop down to select a method and then follow the prompts.
