Class of 2025 Profiles: Manajara Judichael "Judi" and Angelo Romero

To celebrate the upcoming commencement on May 29, we are featuring profiles of some of the extraordinary and inspiring members of the class of 2025. Although this is only a small sample size of all the incredible graduates this year, we hope that it gives everyone a chance to see through the eyes of students how valuable of an experience it is to attend MCC. Today’s profile features Manajara Judichael "Judi." #MCC2025 #MCCPROUD

Manajara Judichael

Veronica: Where are you from?
Judi: I am originally from Antsiranana, Madagascar.

Veronica: What is your major?
Judi: I am pursuing a degree in Public Relations.

Veronica: Who inspires you and why?
Judi: My mother is my greatest inspiration. She raised me and my sister on her own while relentlessly chasing her dreams, working tirelessly, and ensuring we had the best environment to grow. Her resilience, determination, and sacrifices have shaped my ambition and drive. She taught me that no obstacle is too big, no challenge too overwhelming, as long as you keep pushing forward. She embodies strength, perseverance, and unwavering love—qualities that continue to inspire me every single day.

Veronica: What are your plans after graduation?
Judi: After graduation, I will be taking my OPT (Optional Practical Training) and a gap year to save money for my four-year degree. My goal is to pursue a Bachelor’s in Public Relations at the State University of Buffalo or an out-of-state institution. This time will allow me to gain experience, build financial stability, and better prepare for the next step in my academic journey.

Veronica: What was your favorite memory from your time at MCC?
Judi: I can’t narrow it down to just one memory—MCC has been a transformative experience for me. The people I’ve met, the lessons I’ve learned, and the unwavering support from faculty and staff have made my time here unforgettable. MCC is not just a college; it’s a place where students are empowered, believed in, and given the tools to succeed. Whether it was organizing events, late-night study sessions, or simply finding mentors who truly care, MCC has given me more than an education—it has given me a community that has shaped my future.

Veronica: Why would you recommend MCC to other students?
Judi: MCC is more than a school—it’s a place where students are truly seen and supported. Here, you are not just a statistic; you are a person with dreams and potential, and MCC works to help you reach them. Whether you need academic, financial, or personal support, the faculty and staff are there to listen, guide, and uplift you. Your voice matters, your opinions are valued, and your future is taken seriously. If you want a college experience where you are encouraged to grow and thrive, MCC is the place for you.

Veronica: What advice would you give to prospective students you wish someone would have given to you?
Judi: Expand your horizons, work hard, and take every opportunity that comes your way. No matter how small or meaningless it may seem, every experience contributes to your growth. College is just one chapter of your life, but it’s a time when you have the most energy, the most drive, and the most potential to shape your future. No one cares. No one cares if you fail, if you try something new, or if you step outside of your comfort zone—so take advantage of that freedom. Join that club, start that brand, talk to that person you’ve been meaning to, attend that event. The best part about being a student is that you can take risks and learn from them without the weight of permanent consequences. This time is about you—your growth, your experiences, your future. Don’t let fear hold you back. Work hard, stay determined, and make the most of it. You can rest later.

Angelo Romero

Veronica: Where are you from?
Angelo: I have lived in Greece, New York my whole life.

Veronica: What is your major?
Angelo: My major is Liberal Arts, and I am trying to study Political Science.

Veronica: Who inspires you and why?
Angelo: My Grandfather, Antonio Romero, passed away two years ago from cancer. This experience taught me that no matter how tough life gets, I should never give up and take the challenge head-on.

Veronica: What are your plans after graduation?
Angelo:  After graduating, I plan to transfer to a four-year university, where I will continue to study Political Science.

Veronica: What was your favorite memory from your time at MCC?
Angelo: My favorite memories from MCC are becoming friends with members of the MCC Community and spending time with people I call family. These include my SGA team, the Faculty, Student Life, Admissions staff, and those I have met from other SUNY Schools over the years.

Veronica: Why would you recommend MCC to other students?
Angelo: I recommend MCC because it is the best place to start if you don't know what you want to do with your life. I graduated in 2022, not knowing if I wanted to attend college. However, I decided to go to MCC as it was affordable and close to home. It was the best decision I ever made as I grew, learned new skills, and received many opportunities that changed my life.

Veronica: What advice would you give to prospective students you wish someone would have given to you?
Angelo: My advice to MCC students is to get out of their comfort zone, get involved, and take risks. You will never know what can happen unless you get yourself out there and check out all the opportunities at MCC.
