Dreamkeepers is now MCC Emergency Assistance (MCC Assist)

Scholarship America is retiring the Dreamkeepers application as we know it. Thanks to funding provided by the MCC Foundation and United Way, we have a new institutional program to help students overcome unexpected financial emergencies called MCC Emergency Assistance (MCC Assist). More information, including the eligibility requirements & application, can be found at https://www.monroecc.edu/tuition-aid/mcc-assist/

MCC Emergency Assistance (MCC Assist) formerly Dreamkeepers will be transitioning from the Office of Student Life & Leadership Development to the Financial Aid Office. The generous amount of funds available in past years is now smaller and intended to help students overcome emergencies in the form of mini-grants of up to $500 per student, per semester.

First-time/ first-year, Pell-eligible students are encouraged to apply for the Wegmans Scholars program via Scholarships Online. The Wegmans Scholars scholarship application - as well as many others - opened Sept. 1st.

DWIGHT (Doing What IGood and Healthy Together) is also back this year with food cupboards at Brighton Campus, Downtown Campus, and at the Residence Halls.

To better assist students with emergency assistance needs, please encourage them to utilize this list of available resources (attached).

For questions, please email mccassist@monroecc.edu or call the Financial Aid Office at 585.292.2050.
