Please be aware that it will be necessary to close Interstate 490 in both directions between Plymouth Avenue and Clinton Avenue around the clock from 10pm Friday night through 6am Monday morning for four consecutive weekends beginning Friday, September 23. The dates that Interstate 490 will be temporarily closed include: Sept. 23-26; Sept. 30 to Oct. 3; Oct. 7-10; and Oct. 14-17. In the event of a storm, the weekend of Oct. 21-24 will be reserved for make up work.
A detour will be posted directing westbound traffic to take Clinton Avenue north to the Inner Loop to 490 west. A detour will be posted directing eastbound traffic to take the Inner Loop to its interchange with 490 on the east side of the Genesee River. Through traffic, not destined for downtown, is encouraged to use Interstates 390 and 590 as alternate routes to alleviate congestion.
