Nominate a Student for a $30,000 Scholarship to Alfred University

Alfred University is excited to announce a new Transfer Scholars Award!

Each year, up to 5 students enrolled in a SUNY community college degree program will be eligible to receive this transfer scholarship. A faculty, staff, or nominating committee may submit the name of a current student you feel fits the description above and meets the qualifications below. The selected recipient will receive $30,000 per year (or $18,000 per year for NY State students attending our Art & Design or Materials Engineering programs receiving SUNY support) while attending AU. 

Scholarship Qualifications:

  • Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 GPA.
  • Students must have earned at least 24 college credits (after completing a high school degree or equivalent) prior to nomination. 
  • Students must apply to Alfred University by April 1st for Fall 2025 admission or November 1st for Spring 2026 admission.

Nomination Process:

  • Complete the Alfred Nomination Form including a description of what makes this student "Outside of Ordinary" and how they will bring that same inspiration and energy to the Alfred University community.
  • Upload a copy of the student's current transcript.
