Announcing the Inaugural Presentation of the Legacy Lecture Series

Inspired by Randy Pausch’s “The Last Lecture”, the Legacy Lecture Series is a new platform to simultaneously honor retirees and enable the college to benefit from the experiences of our most accomplished faculty and staff. These lectures will be video taped and become part of our permanent institutional history. As such, they are meant to provide the most respected members of the MCC community an opportunity to leave a meaningful, lasting message to inspire those still pursuing professional and academic journeys at the college.

Conceptualized by Anne Hughes of the Counseling and Transfer center, this event is supported by the Faculty Senate, Scholar’s Day, and Human Resources.

Professors Bonnie Connell and James Petrosino will be the honorees at the inaugural event of the Legacy Lecture Series. They are both retiring this academic year after decades of service and dedication to the College, the community it serves, and the values it represents.

Our first lecture will be held on Friday, April 8, and is part of the kickoff for the 3rd Annual Scholar’s Day. The presentations will take place at 2 pm in the Theatre, followed by a reception in the Gillman Lounge, where both honorees and guests can enjoy refreshments and each other’s company.

Please join us in congratulating Professors Connell and Petrosino.

Please watch the Tribune for more announcements regarding this.  Additional information will also be available on the Faculty Senate and Scholar’s Day websites.
