One of the challenges of leaders today is to create an environment that supports and fosters diversity in all its forms. It is through such a culture that organizations and people are their most effective and better able to work collaboratively to achieve common goals.
Earlier this month April Hill, Assistant Director, Human Resources, attended the 5 ½ day SUNY Leadership and Diversity Summer Workshop held at the White Eagle Conference Center near Madison, NY. The workshop was designed to increase participants’ self-awareness around the issues of diversity, establish new experiences in leading and developing teams in complex, multi-cultural organizations. April said of the workshop: “Through this workshop I was able to develop and practice strategies for leading groups and managing change that will further promote MCC’s culture of inclusion.”
