Changes to 2+2 Transfer Pathway Guides
The College has made the following changes to the 2+2 Transfer Pathway Guides and process:
- The 2+2 Transfer Pathway Programs have been removed from the MCC admissions application.
- The term "2+2" will be phased out and replaced with "Transfer Pathways."
- Most 2+2s will no longer be considered "programs" but will instead be advising guides called Transfer Pathways. The MCC 2+2 codes will be phased out, except for those in a Competitive Transfer Pathway.
What is a Competitive Transfer Pathway?
- Some guides with RIT, St. John Fisher, and the University of Rochester are designated as "Competitive Transfer Pathways." These offer more of an admissions guarantee with the 4-year institution and/or a shortened admissions application.
- They have specific entrance requirements and will retain the MCC 2+2 coding.
- These programs may have limited seats for transfer students at the 4-year institution, require cross-registration, and/or need specialized advising for a smooth transfer.
- Program changes into a Competitive Transfer Pathway will be made through the online Program Change process.
Keep in mind:
- All students will need to apply to the 4-year institution, whether they are in a Competitive Pathway or not.
- You can read more on the Transfer Services webpage.
