Dean Fragnoli to become FLCC Provost

After an extensive national search, Kristen Fragnoli has been selected as the new provost at Finger Lakes Community College. Kristen’s last day at MCC will be June 12.

During her exemplary career at MCC, Kristen has enjoyed a wide variety of roles; experiences that helped her become a respected college-wide leader. She began her career as an advisor at the Damon City Campus in 1993 where she helped to build a new one-stop student services model. Then, in 2000, she was appointed as a tenure-track faculty member in the Visual and Performing department, primarily responsible for teaching communication courses.

In 2007, Kristen began her tenure as the chair of VaPA, a large and dynamic department comprised of a broad range of disciplines. As chair, Kristen managed to promote vital program development, to sponsor authentic collaboration, to foster productive external relationships, and to enhance student learning. After acting as the Interim Dean of Liberal Arts for almost a year, Kristen was appointed the permanent dean in June, 2012.

Kristen has certainly contributed a great deal to MCC’s rich legacy. We will miss her laughter, her advocacy, her insights, and, above all, her thoughtful collaborative enthusiasm. FLCC is gaining a wonderful and inspiring leader.

Please join me in wishing Kristen success and all of our best wishes for her new position.
