This Thursday, the Liberal Arts Mentor Program and the Teaching & Creativity Center are cosponsoring a workshop addressing some of the advising challenges we face, such as
*How do you start the discussion with a student who is facing personal concerns that affect academics?
*How do you counsel a student on whether or not to withdraw from the class?
*Have you ever experienced communication barriers while trying to advise students?
*Do students look to you for advice on an "easy" class or professor?
These issues and more will be addressed at this professional development event scheduled for Thursday, March 30, from 3:30 - 4:45 pm, in the Forum (3-130) of the Flynn Campus Center.
