Mitigating Climate Change through Regional Cap and Trade Programs

On Wednesday, March 21st, Clay Munnings, an MCC alumnus, will present a lecture on the current efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in North America.  Clay will focus specifically on regional cap and trade programs, and the Environmental Protection Agency’s efforts to regulate greenhouse gasses.  The lecture will be held in the Warshof Conference Center, Flynn Campus Center (Empire Room) at noon.

Clay is currently a policy associate with the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) in Washington D.C., a non-profit industry association that has lead the voice of the business community on the subject of emissions trading for over a decade. IETA represents over 160 member companies including North America's largest industrial, financial and energy corporations. IETA's mission is to put a global price on carbon by creating an international framework for reducing greenhouse gases through emissions trading. In this capacity, Clay leads IETA's lobbying efforts to improve California's upcoming cap-and-trade legislation, provides strategic advice regarding upcoming EPA greenhouse gas regulations and authors briefs and reports on emissions trading.

Please join us on March 21st.  It will be interesting and informative event.
