The 2007 National Department of Energy Science Bowl hosted its first all female, all African American team in its 17-year history. This team comes from the University of Buffalo and made it to the Nationals via the MCC STEP regional Science Bowl competition. As winners of the MCC STEP Science Bowl, this all female team received an all expenses paid berth in the National Science Bowl in Washington D.C., April 26-May 1, 2007, to compete against the top high school science minds in the United States.
Thanks to Donna Augustine, Director of the MCC STEP, for organizing the regional science bowl. Because of her excellent work here at MCC, she was asked to attend the Nationals as a guest of the Department of Energy.
The MCC STEP Science Bowl winners will be appearing on the Today Show on May 16th.
