Latino male students are cordially invited to attend the “Students’ struggles and challenges with regards to staying in college and Goal Setting Workshop.”

This workshop is for Latino male students only.

The guest speaker is Harry Roldan. Mr. Roldan is originally from NYC born and raised in the project of the Lower Eastside of Manhattan.  He attended SUNY Binghamton and majored in Sociology and Latin American and African Studies. He worked a year in NYC with ASPIRA and Child Protective Service.  From there he was admitted into the graduate program at SUNY Brockport’s Counselor Education Program and received a Master in Counselor Education.  He works for the Rochester City School District. He has volunteered with the Puerto Rican Festival from 1991-1994 and has worked in the Rochester community since 1988.  He also work part time with Child Protective Services After hours Unit.  In addition, he studied martial arts under Sensei Jose Rivera and Kung Fu for about 10 years.  He also teaches Martial Arts at the School without Walls Jr. HS.
