Library Services Quality Survey - LibQual+™

I am pleased to announce that the MCC Libraries are participating in the 2003 LibQual+™ Library Service Quality Survey. This survey is a project undertaken by the Association of Research Libraries, in collaboration with Texas A & M University.  MCC is one of 312 academic, research and public libraries participating in this international effort. The LibQual+™ project will define and measure library service quality across institutions and create useful comparative and evaluation tools for libraries.

LibQUAL+™ is an outcomes-based assessment tool that measures how users view library service quality and effectiveness. The Web-based survey instrument uses 25 core questions to measure library users’ minimum, perceived, and desired levels of service quality in four key dimensions: Access to Information, Affect of Service, Library as Place, and Personal Control.

In the upcoming weeks, the MCC Libraries will be opening up the survey to the entire college community. We look forward to your help in our efforts to understand how the MCC Libraries can better serve our users.

Thank you,
Peter Genovese
