MCC Awarded a $25,000 Innovation Collaborative Grant

Gateway to College National Network has awarded MCC one of the eleven Innovation Collaborative grants. The grant will help MCC to increase student success in transitional education. Joining the Community College of Philadelphia and Pima Community College, MCC will create and scale learning communities, environments that will exploit integrative curriculum design techniques and promote active-learning pedagogies.

Kimberley Collins, Assistant Vice President, Academic Services, directed MCC’s application, creating a faculty team and writing the grant narrative. The MCC team will attend a Peer Learning Conference in Philadelphia in the summer and participate in a year-long collaboration with these national partners.  In the second year, this program will be expanded to include more MCC faculty and develop a mentoring program to sustain this work.
