Starfish Announcement: The Academic Progress Survey Opens Soon!

The first Starfish faculty survey of the semester, the Academic Progress Survey, opens on Monday February 10! This survey will target special populations and at-risk students. Online classes are not included in this survey. The following options will be available to be raised on students:

  • You Rock!
  • Great Participation!
  • Keep Up the Good Work
  • Academic Progress (Email Notification Only)
  • Urgent Academic Concern (Outreach Requested)

Additionally, there are two NEW options in this semester's Academic Progress Survey:

  • Library Research Referral - Please use this referral for students who need help with any aspect of research, such as finding or evaluating information resources or citing sources. A librarian will contact the student to try to schedule an appointment. Your comments will be visible to the student.
  • Recommendation for the Honors Program - Please use this referral to recommend students for the honors program. Your comments will be visible to the student.

As in previous semesters, faculty will be emailed a link to their Starfish surveys.

Please note: there are no attendance flags with this survey. Attendance-related alerts and outreach to students are now triggered through faculty daily attendance reporting in Starfish. The Academic Progress Survey is used to raise concerns or commendations regarding students' academic performance in class.

Remember that the flag name tells you the intervention you can expect. Email Notification Only flags are an email to the student and documentation in Starfish that is visible to their Success Network. Outreach Requested flags will send an email to the student, and their Success Coach or School Specialist will try to contact the student to try to address the concern.

Thank you for your participation in Starfish surveys!
