Call for Undergraduate Research (UR) Faculty
The URSICA Committee at MCC is interested in working with any faculty doing pedagogical work that might be a good fit for the UR-Designation at MCC.
Essentially, UR-designated courses at MCC provide an active, inquiry-based learning environment that emphasizes the language and processes of undergraduate research, scholarly inquiry, and/or creative activity in the classroom. The purpose of UR-designated courses is to promote a culture in which students are encouraged to explore, enter, and/or advance current dialogues in academic disciplines.
As our students continue to struggle against multiple obstacles, we're increasingly invested in how attention to Undergraduate Research (broadly defined) can help capture their imaginations and foster greater engagement in their work. If you would like more information or are interested in joining our community, please email Maria Brandt (mbrandt@monroecc.edu).
