Wednesday, May 4th from 3-4:30pm, Academic Services is offering a live, interactive webinar hosted by Innovative Educators, Integrating Contextualized Learning and Basic Skills: Instructional Strategies that Increase Student Success.

The webinar will be offered at both DCC (room 4057) & the Brighton Campus (Brighton Room 3-217).

This action-packed webinar introduces participants to how and why our students and we benefit from integrating career and basic skills courses and programs. The webinar discusses the purposes, theory and strategies of contextualized teaching and learning and how such programs can increase the retention, success and learning enjoyment of our students.

Participants will learn how to:
Identify topics in a particular existing course to insert contextualized content areas
Develop contextualized activities for those topics
Understand how to collaborate with career technical education (CTE) and basic skills colleagues to develop contextualized teaching and learning (CTL) for CTE and/or basic skills programs

Learn strategies for engaging students with basic skills needs in the classroom

To reserve your spot, please email Kim McKinsey-Mabry <mailto:kmckinseymabry@monroecc.edu>. If you are unable to attend this webinar, a recording will be available shortly after the live session and will be viewable for up to one year.
