Monagan to be Honored at Alumni Weekend 2005

George C. Monagan, Jr., MCC’s first athletic director who passed away unexpectedly in May, will be remembered during the Alumni Weekend 2005 Gala Dinner on Oct. 8 in the Warshof Conference Center, Flynn Campus Center. College faculty and staff are encouraged to reunite with alumni and retirees to honor George and “Celebrate 40 Years of Men’s & Women’s Soccer Excellence”-- the theme for weekend activities that will begin on Oct. 7.

George intended to serve as honorary chair of this reunion event. Although his presence will be missed, his spirit will live on through this special reunion tribute and the stories told at the gala. President R. Thomas Flynn will lead the tribute.

Reunion activities will include a golf outing and kick-off reception on Oct. 7. On the morning of Saturday, Oct. 8, MCC Tribune alumni will be among the first to play on MCC’s new synthetic turf field. Tours of the Erie Canal and Casa Larga Vineyards will be offered during the afternoon, leading up to the Gala Dinner.
