Important Grading Notice

Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
Noon on May 30th is just ahead.
And all spring grades will be due.

This may be corny, but hopefully it got your attention. Although I am relatively new to Registration and Records, I take my grade policing responsibilities very seriously. Not only do I want to impress my new boss, but I have a long career devoted to serving students.

We will be running the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) process on June 1st. It will not be accurate if there are any grades missing. It is unfair to students not to have their spring grades posted before starting the summer session. In addition, it could negatively impact their academic standing as well as financial aid eligibility.

In my short time in this position I have learned the two most common mistakes made by faculty when entering grades:

  1. Forgetting to save the grades. Save, review and save again!
  2. F grades must have a last date of attendance (MM/DD/YYYY) or they will never be saved!

So please help me reach my goal of 100% on-time grade submission completion. You really don't want me copying in your chair or dean on my missing grades emails, but I will if I have to. And I have been known to call faculty at home and even track down their cell phone numbers. As much as we might generally enjoy chatting, this would not be the time. And surely no one wants to get an email or call from the Provost asking why a "K" placeholder grade was posted for one of their students.

I appreciate your attention to this very important matter. Please email me if I can be of any assistance!
