HGHRP Welcomes Back Salva Dut, Continues Support for Water for South Sudan

Tomorrow, the college community is invited to join members of the Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Project as they welcome back Water for South Sudan founder and MCC Alumni Hall of Fame member Salva Dut ’00. The welcome will be held at noon on Thursday, June 11 in the R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center Atrium.

For the past several years, Salva has returned to campus to thank HGHRP leaders for their annual support of Water for South Sudan and to provide an update on the organization’s progress. This year, HGHRP President Tony Filer and his fellow officers will present Salva with a check for $4,000 in support the building of fresh water wells in South Sudan. Since 2006, the HGHRP has contributed nearly $59,000 and has had several wells dedicated in the college’s name, including two new wells this year.

Please join us and take the opportunity to meet Salva. To learn more about Water for South Sudan and Salva’s personal story, please visit https://www.waterforsouthsudan.org/ .
