Monroe Community College will host the third annual Murph Shapiro men’s basketball tournament this weekend. The event honors the legacy of Shapiro, who was affiliated with MCC for 41 years including tenures as head men’s basketball coach and athletic director. The tournament tips off at 5 p.m. Saturday as Mercyhurst North East takes on Jamestown Community College, with Monroe playing Medaille JV at 7 p.m. The consolation will be 1 p.m. Sunday, followed by the championship game at 3 p.m.
Admission to the games will be limited to students, faculty, and staff with a valid ID from the participating colleges, as well as guests of the teams.
