Human Services Department Hosts Community Conference


On Saturday, March 19th, the Human Services students at Damon City Campus organized and hosted the “3 to 6 Initiative: Focus on Youth Conference” at Damon City Campus.  Under the leadership of Professor Paula Fahy and sponsored by the DCC Human Services Club, over 150 students and 14 community agencies came together to discuss issues affecting the youth of Monroe County and opportunities to improve our outreach and services for teens and children.

Anthony Jordan, Assistant Commissioner of Recreation for the City of Rochester presented the keynote address.  Eleven break-out sessions were held for participants to choose from followed by a panel discussion that included Nancy Johns Price, Moses Robinson, Elaine Spaull, and Professor Tim Weider.  In attendance were President Anne Kress, DCC Executive Dean Dr. Emeterio Otero, Vice President Dr. Susan Salvador, and Interim Vice President Kimberley Collins.
