Anne Hughes to Present Tuesday's ITC Audioconference "Teaching Career Development Online"

Anne Hughes will be the presenter for the November 16 Instructional Technology Council audioconference entitled "Teaching Career Development Online." Colleges have offered career development courses for years, but teaching career development online is relatively new. Many community college students are juggling the responsibilities of work, school, home, children, etc. and find it very difficult to take on campus career courses yet still have a need for career assistance. The online career development course gives students the opportunity to explore, in depth, their personality traits, interests, values, skills, goals, obstacles, etc. without ever coming to campus. This presentation will examine: the process of developing an online career development course, the faculty perspective, what the students say about this experience, and new trends in distance career counseling.

This audioconference is scheduled for Tuesday, November 16 at 4:00 p.m. in the Board Lounge.  If you would like to attend, please contact Carol Wilkinson via email or at Ext. 3019.
