It is my pleasure to announce that Amy Burtner, Associate Professor of English has agreed to be the Interim Coordinator for Writing Across the Curriculum. Amy has been a member of WAC since 2010, the WAC liaison for the ENG 101 Committee, and has presented on WAC at several external conferences and internal workshops. Amy has served as a member of MCC’s Reimagine, Reinvent General Education Committee and as Chair of the Committee to Evaluate MCC’s Liberal Arts Degree Programs. She is currently on the Middle States Standard 7- Institutional Assessment team and brings with her a breadth of knowledge and institutional experience. Her extensive experience with assessment will be indispensable as WAC engages in the assessment process this academic year.
I would like to thank MaryJo Witz for her service as WAC coordinator this past academic year. Her service on WAC includes six years of committee membership as a Biology instructor. MaryJo has stepped into the Interim Dean of Curriculum position and we wish her the very best in her new role.
I look forward to working with Amy and thank her again for her willingness to serve the College in such an important capacity.
