Call for Faculty and Staff Interested in Addressing the Impact of Recent Changes on our Students and Workplace

A small but committed group of faculty have been discussing our concerns about the many recent national actions taking place. We are interested in joining with other MCC colleagues, faculty from nearby colleges and universities, and local concerned citizens to learn more about the impact of recent changes on our students and community. In keeping with MCC's Strategic Mission, our particular concerns center around ensuring inclusive, collaborative, and diverse practices; supporting our queer and transgender communities; promoting international relations focused on civility, mutual aid, justice, and a de-escalation of war rhetoric; and seeking ways we can, as a community, help our immigrant friends, neighbors, and colleagues.

As an initial response, we invite any teaching/non-teaching faculty, professional staff, and our CSEA colleagues to join us in planning ways to educate ourselves and consider actions we might take to address the context in which we are living and working.

Please join us Monday, April 7, from 2 to 3 PM in 3-333 or Join us via Zoom.

Please email Elizabeth Johnston (ejohnston@monroecc.edu) or Maria Brandt (mbrandt@monroecc.edu) for more information and/or if you'd like to join our charge but can't make Monday's meeting.
