Unlock These Rooms with the Secret Key

Have you ever been locked out in front of the meeting room that you had reserved? So frustrating, and you were probably wondering, “Why isn’t the room unlocked already?” Well, there is an answer to that question: SAFETY.

Any room on campus that is not in use should be locked. Just imagine if all rooms remained opened all the time for just anyone to wander in whenever they wanted...how do you think that room would look? You’d be happy to find the room unlocked, but in what condition? Ninety-six percent of the rooms on the Brighton Campus are equipped with expensive technology. These SMART rooms that we love to utilize here at MCC are precious!

Unfortunately, the Campus Events Office personnel cannot manage opening all the rooms for all the meetings that are happening on campus every day. We ask that the person reserving the room sign-out the key or contact Public Safety to have an officer open the door for them. Please find below details on the procedures to the different rooms on the Brighton campus:

For conference and meeting rooms in the Flynn Campus Center (Monroe A and B, Empire Room, Brighton Room, Forum and the meeting rooms 3-113, 115, 116, 117, 118 and 119): please sign out the key from the Campus Events Office (room 3-120) Monday to Friday from 8:45 am to 4:45 pm. Outside of those times, please contact Public Safety Dispatch at extension 2912.

For SMART classrooms and labs, contact Public Safety Dispatch (ext. 2912) for access.

Finally, for departmental meeting rooms, keys have to be signed out from the department (examples include but are not limited to: 3-121, 3rd floor conference rooms, Board Lounge…).

Never be locked out and late again! Please sign out your reserved room key at the Campus Events Office!
