Massage Therapy Graduates Successful on Licensing Exam

Spring 2011 graduates from the MCC Massage Therapy program have once again demonstrated outstanding success on the licensing exam.  There were 15 graduates in the May class and 100% of them have passed the exam.  Massage therapy students complete course work in anatomy, physiology, neurology, myology or kinesiology, pathology, hygiene, first aid, CPR, infection control procedures, the chemical ingredients of products that are used and their effects, as well as the theory, technique and practice of both oriental and western massage/bodywork therapy. Within the 1000 hours of education, they will have completed a minimum of 150 hours of practice on a person.  Once the students complete the program they sit for this comprehensive exam which determines whether they become licensed to practice in the state of New York.
