Scheduled Power Outage for Brighton Campus: August 11 and 12, 2012

Electrical power on MCC’s Brighton Campus will be shutdown on Saturday, August 11 at 5:00 am and resume by Sunday evening, August 12.  The shutdown is needed to replace outdated electrical equipment as part of the Property Preservation Phase 1 Project. This outage affects buildings on the Brighton Campus only, as well as the campus’s exterior lighting and street lighting. The college will be closed for that specific weekend; only essential staff should report.

External access to the college’s website, email and Banner will not be affected. Athletics events scheduled in the Stabins Physical Education Complex and PAC Center that weekend will go on as usual. The Alice Holloway Young Commons (residence halls) and the Guon Child Care Center will continue to have power.

Because the electricity may be off until Sunday evening, please plan ahead. Recommended steps include:

* Turn off and/or unplug power-driven devices in your office, including printers and copiers, prior to the close of business on Friday, August 10.

* Empty office refrigerators of any perishables.

* Make other arrangements for materials (food, vaccines, lab specimens, etc.) that need to be kept refrigerated.

* Do not come to the Brighton Campus August 11 or 12 as computers, phones, lights and bathrooms will not function.

If on Monday, August 13 you experience any technical issues, please contact the ETS Technology Support Center at 292-TECH (8324).

Thank you for your cooperation. Please send your questions to <"mailto:marcom@monroecc.edu">  or contact Rosanna Condello, College and Community Relations at x3024.
