MCC Agreement to Expand Downtown Campus Parking

MCC will be leasing 200 additional parking spaces in Kodak Lot D (now renamed Lot CC) at the Downtown Campus from Eastman Kodak Company, bringing the total number of parking spots in that lot for MCC use to 300.

The expanded parking addresses the shortage of student parking in Lot AA. By mid-morning, the lot is usually full, leaving students to circle the lot for an open space, seek parking elsewhere or choose to park in restricted areas. With the lease agreement in place, several changes to the parking program at the Downtown Campus will be implemented.

Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 2, Lot AA will be for student and visitor parking only. Employee parking will be in Lot BB, Lot CC, and underground reserved parking. Employees who work at multiple MCC locations are asked to park in Lot BB or, if that lot is full, Lot CC. Employees who work at the Downtown Campus are to park in Lot CC. Parking spaces for individuals (employees, students, visitors, etc.) with handicapped parking permits will remain in Lot AA. Employees may use Lot AA after 5 p.m. Parking rules in place for Frontier Field events are unchanged.

Lot CC is accessible from Oak Street and Morrie Silver Way. Signs will be posted at the entrances. As the larger lot is shared with Carestream Health and Eastman Kodak employees, the Lot CC area for MCC use will be clearly defined with fixed orange barriers and signs.

MCC will manage the maintenance and security of Lot CC. Enhancements within the premises will include the installation of security cameras and increased vehicle and/or foot patrols by Public Safety personnel. Your safety is our top priority. As always, MCC's Public Safety Department is available to assist you. They can be contacted at (585) 292-2912 or via the MCC Guardian app, which is available for download to your cellphone.

We believe this parking arrangement will ease parking constraints and allow us to better meet the needs of our students. We greatly appreciate your understanding and thank you for your cooperation.

For full details of the parking arrangement or if you have questions, an open forum will be held at the Downtown Campus from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, in High Falls A &B. We hope you can join us.
