TCC: Tomorrow! New Book Group for 2022-23 - Grading for Equity
Grading and assessment are an integral part of the classroom experience. This reading group will explore the work of Joe Feldman, “Grading for Equity: What it is, why it matters, and how it can transform schools and classrooms.” Following this work, we will review the history of grading, identify how traditional grading thwarts effective teaching, and discuss practices that lead to grading practices that are accurate, bias-resistant, and motivational. “Grading for Equity” is designed to support instructors in examining their current assessment practices and make changes to improve the classroom experience.
Interested? There will be an open meeting on Wednesday 9/7/22, 12:00 – 12:50. We'll meet on Zoom: https://monroecommunity.zoom .us/j/8907768604. At this meeting we’ll choose meeting times and location based on availability and preference.
Questions? Contact facilitators Tracey Graney or Ben Schermerhorn.
