More to Know about MCC’s Active Threat Exercise, Friday, June 20

You might think that the most important thing to know about MCC’s full-scale, active threat exercise scheduled for Friday, June 20 is that the College will close at noon. While that is certainly important, there are some other details you should be aware of:

·        Parking lots F, Q, K, and Administrators will be closed all day.

·        Entry to parking lots C, A, J, H, H1 and Visitors (those along East Henrietta Road) will be restricted beginning at noon. Vehicles can exit the lots all day; vehicles will not be allowed to enter beginning at noon.

·        Parking lot D will remain accessible until 1 p.m. in order to accommodate parents picking up children at the Richard M. Guon Child Care Center. (The Child Care Center will close at 1 p.m.)

·        The attached map indicates areas of the College that will be actively used for the exercise. Buildings 4,5 and Wolk Center for Excellence in Nursing will be used for the active threat exercise. Please be sure to vacate those buildings by noon. All rooms in Buildings 4 and 5 may be accessed by exercise participants during the exercise; while due care will be taken, employees with offices in those buildings are encouraged to secure any vulnerable items that could get bumped in the course of the exercise.

If you have any questions about the exercise, please do not hesitate to contact Rich Schill, Public Safety, at

Thank you in advance for your assistance in helping to make this exercise a valuable part of our emergency preparedness efforts.
