Reminder: Open Educational Resources (OERs) in the MCC Classroom

As previously announced, on Friday, November 20, 2015, from 12:00- 12:50 PM in the TCC room (12-201), MCC faculty members Renee Dimino (ESOL/TRS), Paul Seeburger (Mathematics), and Terry Shamblin (ESOL/TRS) will explain their challenges and successes identifying, modifying, and incorporating Open Educational Resources (OERs) into their classrooms. Andrea Kingston will also be in attendance to explain the possible role of the library in facilitating the addition of OERs into your classroom.

Open Educational Resources (OERs) are free, online materials that faculty can incorporate into their classrooms. They can range in size from entire courses, to discrete modules, to single assignments, based upon the needs of the faculty. They can be used to supplement or, in some cases, eliminate traditional textbooks.

This event is co-sponsored by the Faculty Senate Professional Development Committee and the Teaching and Creativity Center.
