Eight MCC Students Presented Research Posters at Bridges to Baccalaureate Summer Program


Eight students from MCC, Samrawit Asefa, Ervin Coaxum, Roxanne Daniels, Sara Llopis, Kathleen Munoz, Darrin Raglin, Simmon Tekilu, and Faizulis Vide presented their research Posters at the Bridges to Baccalaureate Summer Research program held at Binghamton University July 01, 2016.  The posters were a culmination of five weeks of research with a Binghamton University faculty mentor. This program has served as a stepping stone (bridge) for students with aspirations of a career in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field.  Over 90% of students who have participated in this program have gone on to receive at least a Bachelors degree and work in a STEM related field.  The coordinators of this program at MCC include John Curry (CSTEP), Brian Edelbach (Chemistry and Geosciences),Tori Matthews (Biology), James Murphy (Biology), and Paul Wakem (Biology).
