On June 11 the Support Staff Professional Development Committee sponsored a half-day professional development event focused on Sustainability and Going Green. The event, led by co-chairs Amy Coon and Travis Regan, provided an opportunity for staff to walk the campus green spaces and to participate in planting a variety of flowers, fruits and vegetables for employees to enjoy. The day also included a presentation entitled “Becoming a Living Learning Laboratory” by Valarie Avalone, Director, Institutional Planning, Effectiveness and Accountability.
A special thank you to Bob King, Agricultural and Life Sciences Institute; Mike Wichtowski, Paul Pfenninger, Greg Nickason, David Brown, Jr, Erik Melvin, Eric Mandel, Kelly Sloan and Aaron Swinarski of the Facilities Department for their support in making the day a success.
We look forward to many more events from the Support Staff Professional Development Committee.
