Indian Filmmaker, Swati Dandekar, Visits MCC on Tuesday, September 10

Swati Dandekar will screen her film with you on Tuesday, Sept 10, at 6 pm. All faculty, staff, students, and community members are welcome to attend. Registration is recommended but not required. Doors open at 5:30 pm.

About the film:

Traversing the verdant monsoon of Tamil Nadu, the earthy expanses of springtime Telangana, and the wintry desert of Kachchh, Neeli Raag (True Blue) is an attempt to tell the story of indigo as it is practised in India today. (85 minutes)

Swati Dandekar is documentary filmmaker and film educator based in Bangalore, India, with a special interest in creating visual narratives of the living history around her; of people, places, ideas, traditions, practices, and the continuous process of change. Swati heads the Film program at the Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Bangalore.

This screening is co-sponsored by the Cornell-Syracuse South Asia Consortium, MCC's Global Education and International Services office and MCC's PRISM Multicultural Center.

Tuesday, September 10 at 6 pm in MCC's Theatre, Building 4
