AAWCC Community Service Projects for 2007-2008

This year the American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) Service Committee is off to a running start. Our second event is this Saturday morning’s MCC Community Service Day cleaning up the campus along East Henrietta Road. Meet at Parking Lot K between 9 and 9:30 am and plan to stay until noon. There will be refreshments and dodge ball in addition to the clean up.

Our first event, The American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer on September 30th at Frontier Field brought our team together with 9,000 community members to raise funds and awareness to help fight breast cancer.  Team “AAWCC at MCC,” included three breast cancer survivors, and was represented by AAWCC members, students, alumni, friends, family and numerous donors.   We are proud to report the team and sponsors have raised $1,325, exceeding our $1,000 goal! And, we were on the front page of the Local News section of the Democrat & Chronicle!

Please help us keep our momentum going strong by joining our team at any or all of the community service projects planned for the Fall and Spring:
