Myriad students and faculty were inspired this past Saturday, October 29th, as more than 260 attendees were treated to 34 oral presentations and 90 poster displays from 20 area colleges in the 38th annual Rochester Academy of Sciences (RAS) Paper Session. Both students and faculty from these colleges presented their research and exchanged ideas with their peers. Jutta Dudley, RAS President, commented prior to the keynote address, that Saturday’s turnout was the largest turnout ever for this event. Beata Csatho from the University of Buffalo was the keynote speaker, and addressed her work on the disappearing Greenland Ice Sheet, shedding new light on an issue of global implications. The success of this event is due to the combined efforts of many MCC science faculty, Campus Events staff, and Sodexo. Thanks to all for their hard work!
