Two Important Deadlines to be Launched for Spring Semester

MCC’s past practice of allowing students to enroll well into the first week of classes changed this fall, and feedback from the impacted offices and our faculty has been positive. Our experience with the new registration deadline has led us to fine-tune the process and further support MCC’s efforts to improve student success. In Spring 2012, based on recommendations from staff engaged in student services, MCC will establish two deadlines:

1. Tuesday, January 10th is the deadline for MCC admission application materials, including completed application and transcripts.
2. Tuesday, January 17th is the deadline to register for classes; this date is once again a full week before classes begin.

The “drop for non-payment” implemented in the fall will also continue. A student will need to pay his/her bill, enroll in a payment plan or have “packaged” financial aid to avoid being dropped for non-payment.

We believe this change will have positive and lasting effects, helping our students to start each term prepared for success. Please help our current students by encouraging them to register before they make their mad dash out for the holidays at the end of this semester.
