Free Tdap Vaccine Available

Why should you consider getting immunized for Tdap (tetanus/diptheria/pertussis)?

* Pertussis, also known as whooping cough, is a highly contagious respiratory disease.
* Anyone can get pertussis infection, but adults and teens frequently do not know they have it because they don’t get as sick with it as infants do. However, it can be fatal, especially in babies less than 1 year of age.(Pertussis kills 10-20 infants per year in the US.)
*The best way to protect against pertussis is
https://www.cdc.gov/pertussis/vaccines.html immunization.

The CDC recommends every teen and adult receive one Tdap booster. Tdap gives you ten years of tetanus protection, just like a regular tetanus booster. The vaccine is available to students and staff while supplies last. And it’s FREE!

Call 292-2018 to schedule an appointment at Health Services. See our Health Services Facebook page to hear the sounds of pertussis.
