Become a Mentor with the "Doorway to Success" Initiative at MCC

Dear Potential Mentor,

We are writing today to invite you to participate in a new mentoring program designed to serve African American and Latino men at Monroe Community College.

The “Doorway to Success” is a retention initiative at Monroe Community College developed to promote academic success in the ranks of African American and Latino men attending the college.

As part of the continued efforts of the Doorway to Success, our next step is the implementation of a mentoring program.

Although the “Doorway to success” serves African American and Latino men, we are not only looking for mentors from this demographic. We are inviting anyone interested from any race, gender or ethnicity. The “Doorway to Success” is seeking mentors that can help our students with academics, career development and life planning.

We are having an informational meeting for interested mentors on Wednesday, January 14, 2009. This meeting begins at 5:00PM in the Warshof Conference Center, Flynn Campus Center (Empire Room) at MCC’s Brighton Campus. Interested candidates can please RSVP by emailing <mailto:enguti@monroecc.edu>, or leave a voicemail at
585-262-1659. Indicate if you will need a parking pass and we shall provide you with one.

We look forward to hear from you.

Thanks.
